Ever wish that Zoom meeting was an email?

That email was a Teams message?

...and have a very clear and compelling reason to travel for work?

and like.. if you had to travel for work, it would be in a beautiful place so you can have some “me time” and explore in between sessions?

Hi, I am Jami, the founder of Bella Events. Retreat Planner for companies that want to host meetings that don’t suck.

Here at Bella Events, we believe the most valuable experiences start with 50% transformation, 50% Vacation.

Now before you come at me with “hosting an offsite meeting is so expensive to only have meetings 50% of the time” ..

And I hear you, we create retreat experiences tailored to your mission and vision for meeting..

AND if you want to build relationships across your remote team.. that happens OUTSIDE of meetings. By including fun excursions that encourage collaboration (like scavenger hunts, improv, tandem kayaking, and zip-lining) you balance out the work with just enough play and to keep your team excited to be there.

Jami Johnson, Retreat Planner

I am speaking from experience...

I was fresh out of college when I was invited to my first work conference. I jumped at the chance to get out of the office and see what conferences my coworkers hyped up.

Once I got there I was asked to help with the registration desk, which I jumped at the opportunity to see the back end of an 250 person event.

During the happy hours, I would mingle with other industry leaders and listen to them complain about the lack of value in the topics presented and most are just there to see friends they had made after years of attending and the happy hour time to continue building those relationships.

What a waste of money to the company if the people they're sending don't want to be there, aren't contributing to the topics, and just want the free drinks...

what if there was another way...

Fast forward, I became the product owner of a remote tech team (while planning events as a side hustle).  Morale was down as we had just missed a deadline in a contract and the team was struggling to communicate and we needed to course correct morale and the project before we lost the contract.

I convinced my boss to hold an in person meeting so we could white board solutions in the same room and have some no work, team building time with dinners. Time together but not talking about work so we could transform the person in the little square box into a human with more depth than an image on a screen.

I felt like I had cracked a code.

Bella Events is a done-with-you retreat planning service with one aim: to cultivate unforgettable tailored retreats that support connection across team and alignment with the mission and vision of expanding remote companies.

Whether the location is in the United States or abroad, Bella Events has created over 60 meetings, conferences, and retreats since 2016.

Your lean team is working hard at delivering value and serving the company while you, the CEO, is making sure the company is innovating and your products or services are getting the results your clients desperately need. You know hosting a retreat is the next step to retaining and aligning your team and but you don’t have the time or energy to execute…

That’s where Bella Events step in…

My team will take care of the location, the activities, and all the details in between so you can devote your energy and focus to your business.

This is a complete collaboration, as I present options and you make the decisions so everything that is executed by my team is completely in alignment with your vision and brand.

Having the support of a planner is crucial for a flawless experience.

Meet our team

Jami Johnson, Retreat Planner

Hi! Im Jami..I am the Owner and Founder of Bella Events, LLC. I enjoy traveling and snuggling with my cat pumpkin while bingeing the newest American Horror Story or Kardashians episode.

In the last 6 years, I have planned over 60 events ranging from 10-200 people throughout the United States, Mexico, Costa Rica, Turks & Caicos, Amsterdam, and Canada. I am studying for the Certified Meeting Planner exam in 2023.

I have visited over 22 countries and counting and have a life goal of visiting all of them and living in a few! As I am writing this bio, I am working from a villa on Koh Samui in Thailand, on month 4 of a 5-month adventure through South East Asia.

Meet Emily – the other half of the dynamic Bella Events team.

Besides being friends with Jami for over a decade, I pride myself on my adaptability and trying many different things; whether it was the years living in Mongolia in the Peace Corps, when she studied Russian history during graduate school, or when she quit her “safe” government job for new adventures.

I am known as “The Hostess” as I am always planning the best personal events. I once stopped Chuck Norris from starting a fight during a party with her patented Eyes of Disapproval.

I have three familiars (cats), with one being a monster of a black cat and two being yellow floofy dummies (aka orange tabbies).
